Storing and cooking your Happy Meats Gammon
If you have just bought a home dry cured Gloucestershire Old Spot Gammon and you are in for a treat!
Your gammon is vacuum packed. It will have a best before date. You can keep this joint fresh in the fridge until this date - there is no need to freeze it. You can ofcourse freeze it but we recommend you don't keep it in the freezer for more than a month.
There is no need to soak this gammon. We use exactly the right amount of salt needed so its not too salty.
At Bank House Farm we like to boil the gammon first of all, then finish it off in the oven - Fabulous! However you can do one or the other and your ham should turn out well. Try the baked gammon with oranges recipe.
However you cook it, we hope you really enjoy your free range, chemical free meat.
