10 Jul 2007 No artificial food colouring at Happy Meats (ofcourse!)
Today the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA)announced that in laboratory tests one food colouring, Red 2G (E128), may have the potential to damage the genetic material in cells and cause cancer in animals. You can be sure that Happy Meats products contain no such artificial colours or other chemicals. We keep it natural, traditional, tasty and safe.

20 Nov 2006 Heston Blumenthal joins the Happy Meats Fan Club
We were delighted to get the seal of approval from pioneering chef Heston Blumenthal in his new role as Sunday Times Food Writer. Heston recommended Happy Meats after trying our classic Old Spot Chemical Free sausage 'The Governor' and a piece of our Belted Galloway steak hung for our standard 4 weeks.

Subject to demand, we have teamed up with Ledbury based Organic Box Scheme Flights Orchard Organics to offer customers organic local fruit and veg. If you order by Tuesday, Flights will deliver your box to happy Meats on Thursday lunchtime. You are then free to collect it at a time to suit you. Boxes range from £4.25 - £12.25 and Flights say that atleast 70% of the fruit and veg is grown in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. For more detail or to order call them on Mike or Neil 01531 632244.

It's time for some truly wonderful beef this Christmas. Both our Dexter and Long Horn cattle have a great life chomping on grass and herbs for two years while there less fortunate supermarket contempories, are kept inside and intensively fed barley to fatten them up quick.
