Rare Breeds Survival Trust
Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Between 1900 and 1973 more than 20 unique breeds of British farm animals became extinct - their genetic diversity lost forever. With your help we can ensure that breeds such as the mighty Shire horse, Leicester Longwool sheep, Ixworth poultry, Gloucestershire Old Spots pig or magnificent Longhorn cattle do not suffer the same fate. Ironically we must eat them to keep them!

The Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall River Cottage Site
A website about food, where it comes from, and why that matters. Strong views from Hugh and try out "Hughes Road to River Cottage". How far are you down his road?
As Hugh says, 'I believe our attitude to meat requires radical reform - both an alternative approach to meat production and a return to some of the older, more holistic values of meat cookery. But ultimately the only person who is going to effect any significant change in the way meat is produced, sold and cooked, is you, the consumer. So it's you I'm after, and your habits I hope to change.'
