Happy Meats is proud to be listed in the River Cottage Meat Book and be a Rick Stein Food Hero. We are a specialist producer of superb free range, rare breed meat, where welfare is put first. Traditional old British and Irish breeds of pig, lamb and cattle are reared outside on chemical free food. The result is quality tasty meat which you can trust.
Our rare breed animals have a great life. Our Gloucester old spot pigs are born and raised outside and fed on simple, natural additive free food. We avoid the use of routine antibiotics and do not use artificial fertilisers and sprays on the land. Our Soay and Jacobs lamb, Dexter and Belted Galloway cattle roam freely and graze on the lush grass and traditional pasture herbs in the lovely Teme Valley.
We offer a wide range of well hung meats at our farm butchery, including beef (hung for 4 weeks), lamb (hung for up to 2 weeks), pork (hung for 1 week), chemical free and gluten free sausages and burgers and game. Soon we will offer traditional pies, pâtés, hams and bolognaise sauces. The oak-burning smoke house produces superb smoked bacon, fish and game.
